John Hoskins Stone (1745-1804)

John Hoskins Stone married Anne Couden in February 1781; together they had six children:

Couden Stone

Anne Stone married John Turner, M.D.

Elizabeth Stone married Nathaniel Pope

Robert Couden Stone married Mary Mann

Thomas Stone

John Hoskins served as Colonel in the Maryland Line of the Colonial Army. He was severely wounded and resigned his commission on August 1, 1779. In 1794, he was elected Governor of Maryland and served until 1797.
