Park To Hire Youths
The National Park Service will once again utilize the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) program to employ area youths in maintenance and conservation work at Theodore Roosevelt National Park. YCC positions will be hired to work in the park's South Unit, which is located near Medora, North Dakota, and the North Unit, which is 15 miles south of Watford City.

North Unit To Have Wilderness Hikes
Outdoor activities re being offered at the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park this spring. Wilderness hikes will be offered April 9 and 23 plus May 7 and 21. Starting Memorial Day wekend, hikes will be offered each Sunday through September.

New Reservation Process for Roundup Group Horse Camp
The reservation process for the Roundup Group Horse Campground located in the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park has been revised. Starting in 2006, groups will be selected from a mail-in lottery process rather than a first-come, first-served telephone process utilized the past few years.

Public Open House on Proposed Cellular Tower
A public open house on the proposed replacement of a radio tower with a radio/cellular tower within the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National park will be held Tuesday, Januaary 10, between 4:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the Medora Community Center Roosevelt Room.

Environmental Assessment For Proposed Cellular Tower Available For Public Comment
An Environmental Assessment (EA) on the proposed issuance of a right-of-way permit by Theodore Roosevelt National Park and the proposed issuance of a Private Road Special Use Permit by the U.S. Forest Service has been prepared and is available for public comment.

Guided Hikes at Theodore Roosevelt National Park
The public is invited to participate in afternoon cross-country skiing or hiking adventures at the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Volunteer Ranger John Heider will lead the half-day long wilderness hikes.

Bison Roundup Time In The South Unit
Bison will be rounded up in the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park this week. A helicopter will be used to drive the bison to the wildlife handling facility located on the eastern edge of the park. It will take about three days to gather and process the animals.

Northern Great Plains Exotic Plant Management Plan Completed
The National Park Service has completed the Northern Great Plains Exotic Plant Management Plan and Environmental Assessment by issuing a finding of No Significant Impact for the Intergrated Pest Management of 13 park.
