| Description: a. Metal skeleton key from the
Temple of Music at the Pan-American Exposition. The hole in the handle
is heart-shaped and one side is engraved "Corbin" and
"2" and on the other side is "Pat 87."
b. Note from Elizabeth Salt asserting that the object is "Key to the building where McKinley was shot. My father had charge of tearing down the building & then gave me the key." Elizabeth Salt was born in Bath, NY in the early 1880's and moved to Buffalo ca. 1896, where she obtained a degree from Bryant and Stratton ca. 1900. Her father was the foreman on site for the demolition of the Temple of Music. |
