Hiking
Many Boy Scout troops hike the battlefield. The park has two hikes that let scouts explore their history and earn a special patch by answering a series of questions during their visit. Maps, questionnaires, and patch order forms are available at the visitor center.

Please e-mail us or call 615-893-9501 to schedule your visit.

Service Projects
Stones River National Battlefield offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for scouts. We host several Eagle Scout and troop projects each year. Scouts have removed trash, cleaned headstones, built fences, and helped to eliminate exotic plants from the battlefield. Scouts who perform volunteer service at the park are also eligible for recognition through the National Park Service’s Service to America Program.

Contact Volunteer Program Coordinator Jim Lewis by e-mail or at 615-893-9501 to schedule a volunteer project.
