Artillery Monument
Erected by the Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railroad, this obelisk is a prominent reminder of the horrible events that took place along the banks of the Stones River on January 2, 1863.

Headquarters Site Monuments
Cannonball pyramids, like the ones that mark the sites of Rosecrans’ and Bragg’s headquarters, are a War Department method of marking headquarters on battlefields.

The battle at Stones River claimed more than 23,500 casualties making it one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War. Stones River National Battlefield stands today as a silent reminder of those individuals who lost their lives there.
