Ellis Island Medical Exam: after viewing the video, students will understand the medical inspection process that all immigrants faced at Ellis Island. Students can compare current trends and concerns about health, diseases, and public safety.
Legal Inspection: this activity, accompanied by a video, will allow your students to identify the main reasons why immigrants were inspected before being granted permission to enter the United States. This activity describes the key document used by the government for inspection and how it is used in tracing our ancestry.
Moving Overseas: this exercise will get your students to think about moving to a new home, what to bring and why. Discover the likeness' and differences in our cultures and what we think is important to us.
