Highway 180 into Cedar Grove is open from late April to mid-November. It initially closes at Yucca Point just beyond the Kings Canyon Lodge in Sequoia National Forest, 16 miles east of Grant Grove. In late November it closes at the junction of Highway 180 and the road to Hume Lake, 8 miles from Grant Grove. Check the Bulletin Board for updates.
The following facilities and services are available:
Cedar Grove Visitor Center: Next to Sentinel Campground near Cedar Grove Village. Books, maps, first aid. Opens in late June. Daily through mid-August, then weekends through mid-September; then closed until spring. 559-565-3793.
Road's End Wilderness Permit Station: At Road's End, east of Cedar Grove Village 6 miles. Local wilderness permits self-issue through most of May. Starting late May, permits issued daily 7am - 4pm; maps, bear canister rentals.
There is no RV dump station in Cedar Grove
