The park visitor center at the Battlefield has an information desk and bookstore staffed year round. A 20-minute introductory film is shown every half-hour to orient visitors. A small museum contains artifacts from the time of the battles including several original 'Surrender Cannons'. Thematic seasonal exhibits are also offered throughout the year.
The park offers the National Park Pass, Golden Age Pass, and Golden Access Pass as well as its own Site-Specific Park Pass. More information may be obtained on these passes by calling the Visitor Center, (518) 664-9821 ext. 224.
There are two theaters at the visitor center. One shows an orientation film, "Checkmate on the Hudson," every half hour 9 - 4:30 PM daily. The other theater is used for special programs and events.
A bookstore is located in the visitor center. It is run by Eastern National Parks and Monuments Association who contribute profits back to the parks. Books, posters, pottery, post cards, videos and souvenirs are but some of the items to be found there.
