18th Century Stone: Rechel Gee
|
|
| Rechel Gee (died 1752) The inscription on Rechel Gee's stone, HER LIETH THE BODY OF RECHEL GEE DE (deceased) MA YE 20 1752, was probably incised by the local blacksmith. He ran out of space and had to write GEE up the right side of the stone. Hers is one of several limestone markers with a centrally placed star design, a symbol for heaven. |
