18th Century Stone: Elezebeth Clements
Elezebeth Clements (1732-1762) Elezebeth's sandstone marker reads: HERE LYES YE BODY OF ELEZEBETH CLEMENTS AUGUST YE 15 WHO DPARTED THIS LIFE IN YE YEAR 1762 AGED 30 YER. The chubby-cheeked winged and crowned cherub on Elezebeth's sandstone marker was probably carved by Johannes Zuricker. The lettering, not in Zuricker's hand, was probably done by the local blacksmith, who ran out of room and had to write "August ye 15" up right side of the stone.
