| Abigail Morgan (1727-1782) Typical of stones carved after the second half of the 18th century, Abigail Morgan's stone states her age in years, months and days. The winged cherub on Abigail's sandstone monument represents the soul in heaven, wearing a crown of righteousness. This symbol reflects the influence of the Great Awakening, a popular religious movement of the 1740s that emphasized a more emotional form of worship and assurances of salvation. |
