St. Joseph Hall

Photograph of the officers of the St. Joseph Society, c. 1910

The St. Joseph Society was a benevolent organization founded in 1899 for the advancement of Salem's rapidly growing Polish immigrant population. The society built St. Joseph Hall in 1909 to provide a gathering place for its members. For more than seventy-five years it was the headquarters of Salem's chapter of the National Polish Roman Catholic Union.
