September 2000: Rigging the Lower Mizzen Deadeyes

We set up the lower deadeyes in two "sets." First the lanyard was rove through the first two holes each of the upper and lower deadeyes. The end of the lanyard was tied to the hook of the 3-part tackle with a double sheetbend. This tackle hung down from the masthead and its fall led through a block on deck and then up forward to the hook of the 4-part tackle.
