The Mahaffie Farmstead is located on the north edge of the city of Olathe
at 1100 Kansas City Road. The farmstead was a stage station on the road
from Westport, and dinners were served in the basement of the house. The
two-story native limestone house was constructed in 1865 and is the only
known Santa Fe Trail station that is open to the public. It is owned and
operated by the city of Olathe.
