DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Each position has its own set of duties.
Volunteers may help in one or more of the following tasks:
help staff park information centers
answer visitor questions
handle sales of educational items
respond to radio and telephone calls
provide educational information on the park's natural and cultural resources
teach children
build and maintain trails
host campgrounds
document illegal or unsafe situations
participate in field studies on plants or animals
conduct scientific library research
organize and maintain park book and photo library
assist with office and clerical duties.
DURATION OF POSITION:
Flexible. Positions available year-round.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
Applicants should be interested in helping out in the National and State
Parks. If the position requires public contact work, applicant should
enjoy working with people and have good communication skills. Resource
management positions usually require some experience or education in
biology, geology, or other environmental studies. Environmental
education applicants should have a desire to work with children in an
outdoor setting.
