     Removal of English Ivy and Other Shade-tolerant
     Invasive Plants from the Parks' North District

In September 2000, the Redwood National and State Parks began a three-year project to remove English ivy and other invasive, shade-tolerant plants from the parks' old-growth redwood forests.  The project is in the parks' North District between Crescent City and Hiouchi where approximately 100 acres of ivy infestations have been discovered.  So far the following has been accomplished:
