Single Cabin Rentals

Families and individuals can now rent historic cabins at Prince William Forest Park. Previously, the cabin camps were reserved for large groups, and could be rented only as an entire camp facility.

Individual cabin rentals will be available at Camp Orenda, also known as Cabin Camp 3. This forested camp is one of five group cabin camping facilities in the park constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. It is also one of four cabin camps listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Ten different rental cabins in Camp Orenda are arranged around a central bathhouse with hot showers. Each cabin is equipped with bed frames and mattresses, picnic table, and cooking grill. The cabins have electric lights. The rental rates are $30 for a four-person cabin and $40 for a six-person cabin. The park has opened three cabins that will sleep ten persons. The price is $50/night. The park's visitor center, Pine Grove Picnic Area and numerous hiking trails are easily accessible from the camp.

Please note: Cabin Camp 3 is open seasonally, which runs from late April/early May through October 18.

This new opportunity is being offered to meet public demand for cabin camping in the "eastern wilderness" of Prince William Forest Park. "We want our visitors to experience and appreciate park resources which are becoming rare in our rapidly urbanizing region," says Superintendent Bob Hickman.

Located in Prince William County, Virginia, Prince William Forest Park is the largest protected natural area in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region consisting of over 15,000 acres. The park contains the largest protected example of a Piedmont forest ecosystem in the National Park System and is a sanctuary for native plants and animals. Prince William Forest Park offers many recreational opportunities including wildlife viewing, picnicking, 37 miles of hiking trails and bicycling. The park also features other types of camping experiences such as large group cabin camping, family and group tent camping, backcountry camping and a concessioner-operated RV campground.
