The Department of the Interior through the National Park Service and Bureau of Land Management manages federal lands within the Monument. Joint management responsibility offers both agencies a highly visible opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities in resource stewardship and management effectiveness.

  • State land - approximately 22,000 acres
  • 8,500 acres of private land

Location

  • Located on the Colorado Plateau in northwestern Arizona - bordering Grand Canyon National Park on the south, and Nevada to the west. Click for map

Elevation

  • Elevation ranges from 1,500 feet above sea level near Grand Wash Bay at Lake Mead, to over 8,000 feet at Mount Trumbull. Information, Permits, and Maps
