Situated in the center of the continent, Ozark National Scenic Riverways experiences four seasons. Rainfall is high in the spring and fall and there are often flood events during these seasons.
Summers are hot and humid, with temperatures in the 90s. Winters are mild, but ice storms can cause serious trouble to travellers. Spring and Fall are especially pleasant times to visit.
Sudden thunderstorms can arise, especially in the spring and summer. These can result in heavy downpours that cause flash floods. Persons floating and escpecialy those who camp on the gravel bars and river banks need to stay aware of weather conditions, as these can change suddenly.
