Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

"How long is the tour?"
The full tour is 90 minutes long. You do have the option of leaving the cave after 45 minutes. Family tours are 15 minutes long.
"Can I bring my camera?"
Yes, you may bring your camera. However, there is an area in the cave where your tour guide will ask you not to take any flash photography because you cannot take pictures in area where there are bats.
"Why can't my child, who is less than 42 inches tall, go on the entire tour?"
Some of the stairs inside the cave are uneven and are carved right into the rock. The stairs could be too tall for young children and could be very dangerous.
"Do I have to go in the cave with a tour guide?"
Yes, everyone who wants to go into the cave must go on a tour to protect the resources.
"Is there more of the cave that hasn't been explored?"
The public tour goes about 6/10 of a mile (1 km) and geologists have map about 3.3 miles (5.3 km) of the cave. But, perhaps there is more cave left to discover that hasn't been found yet.
