Modern Period

The Modern Period covers the Ocmulgee Old Fields from 1874 to the Present. In this section you will learn of further destruction of the site, efforts to preserve the site, discoveries at the site, and the establishment of the Ocmulgee National Monument- the National Park which now covers 702 acres of the site.
