Muscogee (Creek) leaders chose the design and location of the stairway constructed this year to the summit of the Great Temple Mound. The "Dreamcatchers," completed this project. They removed the concrete grass-blocks from the trail to the old stairs, and laid sod that will eventually erase all evidence of this trail and heal the scars left by the former viewing platform on top of the mound. For almost two weeks, the teenagers camped out and worked hard despite unseasonably hot (almost 100-degree) weather the first two weeks of June. During this period, they also attended workshops and took field trips to learn more about the area and their ancient heritage in the Southeast.
