Ocmulgee National Monument Legislation

An Act of Congress to authorize the establishment of the Ocmulgee National Monument in Bibb county, Georgia, comprising 2,000 acres of lands commonly known as the "Old Ocmulgee Fields"...

 

Enabling

(No. 2212--Dec. 23, 1936--50 Stat. 1798)

A Proclamation by President Franklin D. Roosevelt setting aside 678.48 acres of the Old Ocmulgee Fields, title to which is vested in the United States, as a National Monument and warning all unauthorized persons not to appropriate, injure, destroy, or remove any feature of this monument, and not to locate or settle upon any of the lands thereof.

 

 

Boundary Adjustment #1

(No. 2493--June 13, 1941--55Stat. 1654)

Added 5 acres to the Lamar Mounds and Village Unit of Ocmulgee National Monument.

 

 

Boundary Adjustment #2

Added an almost 19-acre tract known as Drake's Field to the Main Unit of Ocmulgee National Monument..
