Program Schedule

Celebrate the uniqueness of North Cascades National Park Service Complex through educational programs, displays and gallery exhibits. Discover what makes this place special.

Golden West Visitor Center
The renovated Golden West offers information, camping permits, informative publications, exhibits, a raised relief map, and an on-demand video program. The National Park Service Ranger and administrative office is also now located in this historic facility.

Shuttle Bus Service
This year the privately run Stehekin Shuttle, operates a shuttle along the Stehekin Road. Buses travel as far as the road is safely usable. Check the shuttle bus schedule for specific times, costs and locations.

ALL PROGRAMS MEET AT GOLDEN WEST VISITOR CENTER UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED ON THE PROGRAM FLYERS POSTED IN STEHEKIN.

Junior Ranger Activity
Special programs for children ages 5 - 12. We'll explore a variety of topics using stories, games and hands on activities.

Naturalist Talks
Short talks on special natural or cultural history topics take place daily at 1:30 pm.

Buckner Orchard Bike and Hike Tour
Saturdays at 11:00 am during July and August.

(1 hour at the Orchard)

Tour the historic Buckner Orchard by foot, and enjoy lunch in this peaceful setting. Reach the Orchard by traveling 7 miles round-trip by bicycle with a Ranger or take the Stehekin Shuttle. Program is free, bike rental and lunch not included. Inquire about the Shuttle’s “Orchard Special” at the Golden West Visitor Center. Saturdays only, July - August.

Imus Creek Trail Walk    (2 hours)

Take in the beauty of the surrounding mountains, streams, and forest while you learn about the area’s natural and cultural history from an NPS naturalist. Imus Creek Nature Trail is 0.8 miles in length with a moderate grade. Wear sturdy footware, dress for the weather, and bring water and a snack.

Thursdays - Sundays, June 15 - September 3.

Evening Programs
Park rangers present evening programs on a variety of subjects, nightly at 8 pm.

Golden West Gallery Exhibition
Located within the Visitor Center. The 2005 season hosts exhibitions of artwork inspired by the North Cascades.
