Queen's Cup
Queen's Cup
Larix occidentalis
Habitat: Beneath the canopy in moist forests; low to subalpine elevations

Plants which live under dense forest canopies tend to have flat, broad leaves. The broad leaves allow the plant to gather light most efficiently. Queen's cup, devil's club, Oregon oxalis, vanilla leaf and various species of saxifrage have a broad-leaved morphology.
