Silver Lake
Most lakes found at higher elevation are glacial remnants. These meltwater-filled basins are formed from the carving and plucking action of glacial ice. As the glacier melts away, a small lake basin remains, sometimes flanked by spires of glacier-carved rocky outcroppings.
