
Bald Eagles
Haliaeetus leucocephalus
Diet: primarily fish and waterfowl; but
also any small mammals, dead animals and any other prey they can catch
Where seen: Along major river systems and
their tributaries, coastal shorelines, low elevation lakes, agricultural lands
Range: United States and Canada. Although
some may be yearlong residents in areas where food sources are stable, bald
eagles tend to migrate to areas of abundant food.
