In what ways do you depend on bats? Teachers, have your students keep a journal for an entire day, jotting down all the ways they have been helped by bats. Discuss how bats are an important pollinator of tropical fruits and nuts (mangoes, avocados, bananas, cashews, etc.) and how bats assist us by preying on moths, beetles and other insects that feed on agricultural crops around the world. The following day make a list on the board of all the different ways bats help your students survive and have them discuss their findings.
