Educational Programs
Park Rangers offer
scheduled
talks and guided walks to help visitors learn more about the natural
and cultural history of the North Cascades. During summer 2006, there
are daily Ranger Programs at the North Cascades Visitor
Center near Newhalem or at Colonial Creek Campground. Click here for the Skagit

Evening programs are presented nightly at Colonial Creek Campground and Fridays and Saturday evenings at Newhalem Creek Campground (both along the North Cascades Highway, SR20) and daily at the Golden West Visitor Center at Stehekin. Hozomeen at the north end of Ross Lake will have weekend programs beginning July 1st. >There will be short talks or discovery tables each day at Stehekin and at the North Cascades Visitor Center, which is just off State Route 20 near Newhalem. Program topics and schedules vary from week to week with additional programs to those described here. Stop at the visitor centers or call 360/856-5700 extension 340, then extension 14 (for Stehekin) or 206/386-4495 extension 11 (for Newhalem, the North Cascades Highway vicinity, and Hozomeen) during or just before your visit for up to date information.
