trail circles the park.

Ross Lake National Recreation Area M.P. 111

Complex; most accessible recreation area.
Thornton Lakes Road/Trail: Access 4.7 miles (7.6 km) up steep windy,
gravel road. NW Forest or National Parks Pass required.
Goodell Creek Campground: Rustic sites along Skagit River; open
all year, but without water and services in winter; $10.
Raft launch. Picnic shelter. Group site available at Upper and Lower Goodell. |

Newhalem M.P. 120

Newhalem Creek Campground: Open May to September. Individual
sites $12. Group sites available $32, limit 24 persons. Camp hosts
and weekend naturalist programs in summer.
North Cascades Visitor Center: Interpretive programs, exhibits, books, and
maps. Breathtaking view of the Picket Range. Open daily mid-April
through mid-October; during winter months open weekends only.
Seattle City Light Information and Tour Center: Historical highlights of

Ladder Creek Falls: Located behind Gorge Power House. Loop
through flower gardens; lit at night. Closed in winter.
Gorge Overlook and Gorge Creek Falls: 242-foot (74 m) waterfall three
miles (4.8 km) east of town. Accesible loop trail at rest stop offers views of
the gorge and dam. |

Sourdough Trail: Strenuous ten mile (16 km) round trip hike up Sourdough
Mountain.
Road across Diablo Dam closes daily at 4:15 p.m. or during high security levels. |

summer. $12 fee from May to October. Accessible picnic area and fishing.
