Weis Rockshelter is an archeological site that was inhabited by Nez Perce peoples for more than 8,000 years. It is named for the amateur archeologists who excavated and then backfilled it in 1962. The artifacts they unearthed are stored at the University of Idaho. The site is about 8 miles south of Cottonwood, Idaho, along the Graves Creek road, 7 miles west and south of U.S. Highway 95.
