One of the most important resources used by people indiginous to the area were native plants. The Nimiipuu Perce traditionally gathered wildflower species for food and utilitarian purposes. Many parts of some plants were used as staples in diet. Other plants were used to make cordage, baskets, shoes, backrests, and hats. In addition, natural dies were obtained from a variety of plants found within the park area.
