Oxon Run Parkway

A unit of National Capital Parks - East

Oxon Run Park is bounded by Mississippi and Southern Avenues, and Thirteenth Street in Southeast, Washington, D.C. It is composed of approximately 126 acres of eastern deciduous forests, wetlands, springs, and floodplain areas. It serves as an important natural area and sanctuary for wildlife. From 1917 to 1958, Oxon Run Parkway was known as Camp Simms, and was used by the military for training purposes.
