Oxon Cove Park and Oxon Hill Farm
Programs offered at Oxon Hill Farm

Oxon Cove Park, in Prince George's County, Maryland, features a working farm on 512 acres of farmland, pastures, woods, and ponds. Oxon Hill Farm offers a variety of educational subjects, from economic and social change to ecological and environmental studies. The park is an ideal setting to demonstrate a diverse ecosystem that supports a variety of plant and animal life. Visitors to the farm can elect to observe activities or jump right in and milk a cow, gather eggs, or work in the garden.

Education programs

Please note: Reservations are required for curriculum-based education and special daily interpretative programs.

Animal Life on the Farm (Pre K and grade 1), Tuesday's 10 to 12 a.m. during January thru May 2001.

Contact Earth: Garden Morning (grades 1 and 2). 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Wednesdays June 2001.

"Moo Velous Milk" (grades Pre K and K). Monday's 10 a.m.

Special daily and seasonal interpretative activities

Daily - Cow Milking, Chicken Program, Wagon Rides, .

Seasonal - Apple Cider Days, Whose Home, Old Fashioned Corn Harvest, Quilts - Not Just Blankets For The Bed, Talking Turkeys, Sheep Shearing, and Egg Incubation.
