The Independence Day Celebration at Mount Rushmore National Memorial is so big it takes two days. On July 3rd the very popular fireworks display is lit up above Mount Rushmore. On both the 3rd and the 4th of July there are entertainers, fly overs and military bands thrilling park visitors with their shows. The Independence Celebration at Mount Rushmore is an experience of a lifetime.

Other important information: The fireworks display is held on July 3rd at 9:20pm MDT, weather permitting. There are fireworks displays in the surrounding communities on July 4th.

Due to heavy traffic, limited parking and security checks expected for the July 3rd fireworks extravaganza, plan to carpool and arrive early. Continuous entertainment begins at noon. Wearing light colored clothing and carrying a small flashlight is recommended. No personal fireworks, barbecue grills or pets will be allowed at Mount Rushmore National Memorial during the event.

Vehicles, as well as bags, coolers, strollers and other containers may be subject to search. July 3rd and 4th Program Flyer (PDF file)
