The plants and animals, the natural resources, around our ancient cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park are precious. The Natural Resource technicians identify the plants and animals. Then they make special trails to cliff dwellings to help archaeologists avoid trampling or disturbing the natural resources.

So far, the technicians have identified: 19 Plants, 46 Birds, 9 Reptiles, and 11 Mammals, all of Special Concern.
