Balcony House Tour

Inside Balcony House

Divider

The one-hour Balcony House Tour is quite an adventure. A visit to Balcony House will challenge your fear of heights and small places. For those willing to go on an adventure it is fun and exciting. The Balcony House tour requires people to descend a 100-foot-long staircase into the canyon. To tour Balcony House, visitors must then climb a 32-foot tall ladder, crawl through a 12-foot long tunnel, and then climb an additional 60 feet on ladders and stone steps. The Balcony House tour is the most challenging in the park.

The climb into Balcony House

The Balcony House tour is strenuous due to the elevation and physical exertion required to visit the dwelling. The tour is not recommended for anyone with heart or respiratory problems. All of the cliff dwellings are located at approximately 7,000 feet elevation and involve strenuous physical activity.
