Welcome to our "virtual tour" of Manzanar National Historic Site!

This tour features forty-two 360-degree interactive scenes that will allow you to "visit" Manzanar today. The 800 buildings that were here from 1942 to 1945, and the 11,061 internees who lived and worked in them, are gone. But, foundations, trees, gardens, and rock alignments remain. You'll see many of them on your tour.

To take the tour, you will need to have QuickTime software installed on your computer. QuickTime is free.

Each red dot on the map will load an interactive scene of a tour stop. Once the scene loads, use your mouse to "look around" the scene by clicking and holding in the scene and moving your cursor in the direction you want to look. Zoom in and out with the buttons on the control bar or with the shift and control keys on your keyboard. Some scenes are multiple views and allow you to jump to nearby areas via hot spots in the scene. Watch for the hot spots. Your cursor will change to an arrow and descriptive text will appear in the info area. You can show and hide the hot spots with the show hot spot button to help you navigate the multiple views.

.

After you finish your "virtual tour" come to Manzanar and experience the real thing: feel the wind, the heat, or the cold. Walk the streets, explore the blocks, and discover history.
