Things to Do at Manzanar

Interpretive Center - The interpretive center includes a twenty-minute film, 8,000 feet of exhibits, and a bookstore. The center is open daily from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. through October 31, 2004 and from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily beginning November 1, 2004.

Auto tour - 3.2 mile, self-guided auto tour of the camp with a tour description and map is available to help visitors explore the site.

Guided tours - Rangers offer guided tours on a regular basis. These programs are listed in these News and Activities sections on our website at www.nps.gov/manz. Tours range from 30 minute to 90 minutes.

Explore the Site - Visitors are encouraged to explore the site on their own. You can explore the gardens in block 22, the chicken farm, the orchards or any of the other areas of the site not on the main tour road..

Birding - The site offers a variety of habitats from riparian to desert scrub that draw over 100 species of birds from great horned owls to western tanagers.

Mountain Biking - Bike the main auto tour road or gravel roads north and south of the site.
