Teachers in the
Barren River Area Development District's ten counties have additional
resources at Mammoth Cave National Park available to them.
Workshops
The Park's environmental education program
offers several workshops each year. Most workshops introduce participants
to the park's education curricula.
Other workshops are conducted in partnership
with other educational institutions, such as Western Kentucky University
or the American Cave Conservation Association. The education staff is
also qualified to facilitate workshop on nationally recognized environmental
education curricula such as Project Learning Tree, Project WET, Project
WILD, and Project Archaeology. Please contact us at MACA_environmental_ed@nps.gov
if you would like to be placed on our workshop mailing list. Please identify
your school and location when you write us.
Trunks
and Paleontology kits
The education program has developed a companion
trunk to our K-3 curricula. For those studying paleontology, we have a
limited number of fossil replicas. The trunks and kits are available on
a limited basis to teachers only in the BRADD area who have attended the
related workshop. Please
contact us at MACA_environmental_ed@nps.gov
if you would like to know more about the trunk or kit. Please identify
your school when you write us.
