The Institute convenes dialogue on current issues to encourage innovation, strengthen public commitment, and ensure the relevancy of national parks and other special places to all citizens.

The Institute also demonstrates and evaluates education that forges an enduring connection between people, their communities, and public lands. Place-based education provides youth and adults with opportunities to become engaged in stewardship.
