Kerouac Park

Benches and granite columns in Kerouac Park

Kerouac Park is a memorial to Lowell-born "Beat" writer Jack Kerouac. Best known for On the Road, Kerouac also wrote five novels set in Lowell. Benches and paths offer quiet spaces for people to view eight granite columns inscribed with excerpts from his writings. Collections exhibited at Lowell National Historical Park include Kerouac's typewriter and backpack.
