Animals

Little River Canyon National Preserve is home to a variety of animals. Turkeys, squirrels, whitetail deer, raccoons and opossums are common. Birds are plentiful, and even bald eagles have been seen here. Bass and sunfish are found in the river, and Little River is one of only a few places in the world where blue shiners live.

The following is not a complete listing of animals within the preserve. We still need more studies to have a more accurate account of the types of species within our boundaries.
