Beginning in May 2003 Canyon Mouth Day Use Area will charge a fee of $2.00 per vehicle. A season pass is available for $10.00.

If you would like to hike in the Preserve but want something not too strenuous try this trail. The trail is about a mile long, mostly sand and dirt with a few roots here and there. You can walk on the trail or get off and walk on the rocks. It will end with Johnnies Creek. If the creek is low, you can wade across, (the swinging bridge is no longer there). If it is up, I would not cross. I recommend this for anyone with small children, pets (on a leash)  or anyone who just wants a leisurely hike/walk to view nature up close. Put a snack/lunch and plenty of water in a backpack and spend the day.

*Off the trail is a great place to take a break and skip rocks.

*The trail ends at Johnnies Creek, let's break for lunch on the rocks!

*Time to go back, we loved it!!!
