Fort Spokane Indian Boarding School 1901-1908: Three rows of indian girls in school uniforms.

Two young indians seated on horses in front of a tipi.

One of your favorite things to do in the summer was ride horses with your cousins who lived nearby. You were a better rider than all of your brothers; in fact you had been riding horses even before you could walk. You were riding your horse one day when a white man you did not recognize rode up in a horse-drawn wagon and began talking with your father.
