Human influenced landscape disturbance takes many different forms from development to fire exclusion. Past management practices at Lava Beds has left evident reminders of historic activities. Management goals include erasing evidence remaining on the landscape by past activities. The goal is to restore the landscape to a more pristine state and allow the natural processes to reclaim the disturbed sites.
