War Club

Every plains warrior carried some kind of club when raiding or going to war. Usually it was thrust under his belt, but when fitted with a wrist strap it could be hung from the pommel or cantle of his saddle. The oldest types had stone heads with short wooden handles. This type is a Gunstock war club so named because of its resemblance to the stock of a rifle. It was a popular style because of its intimidating appearance.
