Desert Indians migrated from the mountains to the desert with the seasons. When it was cold, they lived in the low parts of the desert. When it was hot they moved to the mountain tops. In this way they lived in harmony with the land. |
| The men used bows and arrows to hunt bighorn sheep and smaller animals. They used sticks to catch rabbits and other smaller animals. They also used arrowheads to put on their arrows. | ![]() |
The women weaved and made baskets. They used pots called ollas. They used smooth rocks to grind mesquite beans, acorns, and pine nuts into meal. | ![]() |
