CALIFORNIA TREE FROG
Hyla cadaverina
Three populations of this frog are present in Joshua Tree National Park: Fortynine Palms Oasis, Rattlesnake Canyon, Johnson Spring. It was formerly present also in Willow Hole, Smithwater Canyon, and Lost Palms Oasis.
CALIFORNIA TOAD
Bufo halophilus
In Joshua Tree National Park this toad has been reported from the Oasis of Mara. It may be established around watered areas in the urban parts of the Morongo Basin. The nearest natural population is in Little Morongo Canyon.
RED-SPOTTED TOAD
Bufo punctatus
This toad is widely distributed through Joshua Tree National Park. It is found in most mountain canyon areas, anywhere that water can accumulate for a few weeks. It has also spread into the vicinity of man-made tanks and dams.
