[Block 5A]

A vertical log house of "posts on sill" construction, 20 x 23 feet, built by Leroy in 1766. The first newspaper published in St. Louis was printed on this block.

This modern view of the Mississippi River was taken from the site of the Leroy House at First and Myrtle (Clark) streets.
